Usborne Guided Reading Packs

Usborne Guided Reading Packs have been developed and endorsed by top reading experts to provide teachers with exciting, effective and practical classroom resources.

Each pack contains six copies of a carefully chosen Usborne Reading Programme title which complements a particular level of the National Curriculum literacy framework, and full-colour teacher's notes in a zip-lock case - all for JUST £30.

Packs to support the Curriculum

There are 12 Usborne Guided Reading packs to choose from - one for each National Curriculum level from 1C to 4A.

Every level develops specific skills and general reading fluency and stamina, as well as highlighting cross-curricular links.

Teacher's notes

Each pack contains comprehensive, full-colour Teacher's Notes, which feature:

  • Introduction to the text.
  • A "walkthrough", with reproduced scenes from the story so that you don't have to keep referring to the book.
  • Independent reading and strategy check.
  • Return to the text (group discussion of key topics and strategies)
  • Photocopiable Guided Reading assessment grid record.
  • Inspiring ideas for engaging with the text and encouraging lively discussion.
  • Further reading suggestions from the Usborne Reading Programme at the same or a higher level.

The notes can be used across the board by teachers, trainee teachers, parents, and home educators.
