Anna is the author of a number of Usborne Picture Books, but How Big is a Million? posed a particular challenge. Everyone involved in the book felt it was really important that the poster should show exactly one million stars. It took weeks of testing and ingenuity - but we promise you, the poster shows one million stars - no more, no less!

Who made the book?
Anna Milbourne - the author
Anna Milbourne
Anna has been writing children's books for Usborne for over eight years, and has had around thirty books published. She was born near the seaside in North-West England, but now she lives in London. She wanted to write books ever since she was a little girl, and so her job makes her very happy. She lives in a small house on the top of a hill. It has a roof garden from which she has a very good view of the moon, and also of the trains which go past the end of the garden.

Serena Riglietti - the artist
Serena Riglietti
Serena Riglietti was born in Milan but now she lives in Pesaro, a little town on the seaside in Italy. She has been illustrating children's books for fifteen years, and has had about sixty books published. Originally, she wanted be a vet. Having decided to draw for a living instead, she likes stories with animals in them best. Serena has two children, Francesco and Tommaso, to whom, every evening, she shows how many stars there are in the sky. She also has a dog called Artù, who is mostly in love with a hen and never looks at the stars.
