aimed at a younger market (5-plus) and includes classic fictional stories like Sinbad the Sailor as well as original titles.

Sunday Express S Magazine - Best for ... boy’s stuff
Combining traditional tales like Sinbad the Sailor and Treasure Island with more futuristic adventures such as The Tale of the Haunted TV and Robot Robbery, this book's variety is its strongest feature. An assortment of illustration styles and the brevity of its seventeen stories should hold the shortest of attentions whilst the host of pirates, monsters and ghosts waiting to be discovered should easily fire the imaginations of boys (and, shh, girls too!)

Reader Reviews

If you son is like mine and demands 'Boys' things only - this is for you
My son loves this book, it is the 2nd one in the series that we have bought for him. He reads it on his own without prompting and I have found him rereading his favourite stories. The text is easy to read and the pictures make the book interesting. It is the right book to fit in between books for young children (illustrated) and books with black and white illustrations & text.

Excellent book for story time
We bought this book when my litle boy was about 1 as it looked fun and enjoyable and I knew I wanted it for him. He is now 3 and for the last 18 months he has been having the stories read to him on numerous occasions. He loves the illustrations and can now often tell me about some of the different stories and characters in the book. No doubt he will be able to read the book himself at some point. An excellent investment and lovely book that covers a wide range of ages and imaginations. I plan to buy the illustrated 'stories for girls' book for my daughter even though she is just 6 months old.

A humorous book with wonderful illustrations
After having looked at online previews of this book, I decided to give it a try and purchased it. I'd already heard of 'Sinbad the Sailor' and 'Treasure Island' and although this book doesn't contain as many classics as 'Illustrated Stories for Girls,' it was still worth a read. A lot of the stories are hilarious and there are even more stories that were illustrated by the late great Stephen Cartwright.
